Information on the 2010 Green Miracle Home Project

I

Is the glass half-full or half-empty? There are two ways of looking at a situation, and we each have the choice each day to work hard, plan carefully and pray dutifully that today’s glass will, at the day’s end, will be overflowing. And while it’s sometimes difficult to stay focused on that objective, in the end, it is the only way to long term happiness and peace.

Most people would agree the last few years have been hard. There will always fluctuations in our economy; however, the challenge after this recession seems different than in the past. I believe we all must find our place and have a zest for our careers in order to be successful in our professional – and personal – lives. At Olde Heritage Builders – a Raleigh green home builder – we do our very best to be relevant and inventive by only building homes that are truly green. We’re also committed to helping others along the way while remaining passionate about what we do.

The above was mentioned to lay a foundation for explaining why Olde Heritage is building the 2010 Green Miracle Home to benefit Duke Children’s Hospital. This marks our fifth year partnering with Duke, and we have donated $1,000.00 from each home sold during the past three years.

This year we are partnering with the following to build a home in our award-winning Wakefield Meadows neighborhood in Zebulon, NC:

    Duke Children’s Hospital
    WRAL
    Mix 101.5 FM
    Whitley Furniture Galleries

All profits from the sale of this home will go to the Mix 101.5 radiothon in February. Over the years, the Radiothon has raised millions to benefit patients and research at Duke Children’s Hospital. We feel the green home aspect is an excellent fit because one benefit of green building is superior indoor air quality and its benefits to the homeowner’s health. The home features many wonderful features including coffered ceilings, beautiful cabinetry and trim, sealed crawlspace and attic, an outdoor fireplace and serenity garden, CREE LED lighting, and trim, and much more.

This project has given a boost to our team’s morale as almost every one of our trade partners has donated time, work, and materials to help the cause. We’ve had a lot of interested buyers in the home and are taking our mentioned “half-full approach” toward its early sale.

Please join us and be a part of doing something wonderful for the children who so need the miracles they receive at Duke Children’s Hospital. I’ve spent a lot of time with many of these children, and I can tell you, their glasses are always half-full.
