ICFe’s focus is on the B+ and B towns where there are neither enough career opportunities nor enough national level institutes who can impart proper training which can lead to gainful employment to the local populace. ICFe is looking to invest close to Rs.10 crore in the states of Punjab, Haryana & Chandigarh in the next one year, and are looking at opening around 50 branches in the region.

The finance industry is witnessing a very healthy 40 % growth every year and the demand for finance professionals is huge. In fact, Ministry of Human Resource Development puts a figure of 200,000 as the shortage of finance professionals by 2009. While the number of CAs and MBAs has been growing, there is a huge gap between demand and supply of semi skilled manpower in the critical areas like Finance, Banking and Insurance.

ICFe attempts to fulfill this shortage by training students who fit the requirements of the industry. Its students are exposed to practical environment and theoretical concepts in accounts and finance. In the computerized environments of today, the focus at ICFe is also to train students on new initiatives like e-filing of returns, latest software’s and packages. The objective at ICFe is to participate in Nation Building by providing the necessary skill set to make people, living in even the farthest areas of the country, self reliant and employable.

To help ICFe fulfill this mission, ICFe has tied up with four Industry leaders as Strategic Consultants for bringing the best quality education to its students. These include Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow for course content and design, National Institute of Financial Management (NIFM), Faridabad for Faculty training, HCL Infosystems as technology partner and Liqvid in association with BBC Active for English Edge, which is an English language program.

With IIM Lucknow, the main purpose of the consulting assignment is to analyze gaps between the existing course curriculum and the course curriculum needed for imparting skill sets required by the targeted recruiter in the Finance sector, and suggest appropriate changes. For this IIM Lucknow will review the course curriculum, interact with leading professionals from the sector to understand their requirements and then present their comments for updating the courses.

NIFM will help ICFe retain its cutting edge, by training the faculty in finance and accountancy. NIFM will hone the unique teaching methodology developed by ICFe in order to reach out to a larger mass and will focus on the effective combination of instructor led theoretical training and guided practice.

HCL Infosystems will help create and maintain the IT backbone of the company. Each new ICFe centre will have the infrastructure from HCL Infosystems and the service and support for hardware, software & networking will be taken care of by HCL.

One of the major problems faced by any semi skilled professional, in today’s world is the lack of communication skills which impede their progress up the corporate ladder. To ensure that ICFe students are well turned out and gain that extra edge, ICFe is tying up with Liqvid, which has created the English offering, English Edge in association with BBC.
