Linschoten, 8 August 2012 ? For the overwhelming majority (70 percent) of CIOs and IT managers, knowledge exchange is the main reason for putting remote collaboration high on the strategic agenda. Subsequently, cost savings (56 percent) and promoting cooperation within the organization (45 percent) are named as important motives. These are the results of a research by Talk & Vision , specialist in the field of video communications and managed video services, in cooperation with Nyenrode Business University.

Furthermore, the research shows that working with customers, suppliers and partners in the chain is an important part of the business process for 48 percent of the organizations. However, these aspects still take too much time. 42 percent of the respondents believe that too much time is spent by travelling to customers and other external relations and a third believes that travelling between sites is a waste of time.

Joost Deckers, Managing Director of Talk & Vision: “We expect the trend of the New Way of Working to continue the next years. Therefore, more remote collaboration will take place, enabling organizations to deal with knowledge exchange more consciously. To facilitate exchange of knowledge, decisions should be made at a strategic level. The first step is to analyze the cooperative DNA of the organization. This ensures that an optimal match can be made between strategic objectives and technical solutions.”

Research In cooperation with Dr. Jeroen van der Velden (Business University Nyenrode), Talk & Vision has researched this topic among 126 CIOs and IT managers. Aim of the study was to identify the management view on using collaboration technologies.
