New York / New York, USA April 18, 2008 – Since 247yak.com first went online in March 2007, nearly 500 members from all over the world have signed up and communicated with one another.

Most people around the world are aware of the tremendous growth and transformations that China is currently undergoing yet do not have a good way of staying informed about China. At the same time, most people from China are very eager to learn English but are shy to speak it as they do not get the chance to practice speaking with native English-speakers. 247yak.com provides a portal of Chinese news and cultural information and a network of people from all over the world who are interested in learning the Chinese language or culture.

Membership is free-of-charge. Online members chat instantly for free by clicking on the Skype buttons. The members have found that taking turns to speak to one another in English and Chinese is a much more effective way to learn a language than learning from books.

Since launching the website, co-founder Kingchih Fan, a Chinese entrepreneur living in New York says, “The members from China love practicing their English, and Americans love learning about China. Of course, not every American want to learn the Chinese language, but most are interested to learn about the country and the culture.”
