‘For the Love of a Child’ Tribute to Child Abuse Prevention Month; Former United States Secretary of State and ABC Anchor, Cheryl Jennings

San Francisco, CA – April 1, 2009 – The San Francisco Child Abuse Prevention Center (the Center) will host its annual Blue Ribbon Luncheon: ‘For the Love of a Child’ to benefit the confidential support and safe environment the Center provides to hundreds of San Francisco children and families affected by child abuse and neglect. The event will take place on Friday, April 17, 2009 from 12:00pm -1:30pm at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel, 600 Stockton Street, San Francisco.

Each day, three children die from child maltreatment in the United States. For abused and neglected children, the physical scars may heal, but the pain lasts a lifetime. The 12th Annual Blue Ribbon Luncheon: ‘For the Love of a Child’ honoring Child Abuse Prevention month will help raise community awareness for child abuse and neglect. The event will feature a keynote from The Honorable Madeleine K. Albright, former United States Secretary of State; and emcee, Emmy-Award winning Co-Anchor of ABC 7/KGO TV, Cheryl Jennings.

The luncheon is open to the public. Registration begins at 11:00am. Individual tickets are $250 and sponsorships begin at $1,000. For more information, to purchase tickets to the event or to donate directly to the organization, please contact the Center at (415) 668-0494, www.sfcapc.org/lunch.
