Sungard-HTE Municipality Management Software Users Choose ACOM for Payment and Document Management Solutions

ATLANTA, Georgia, February 6, 2008 – With more than 150 implementations of its payment and document management solutions in municipalities and other government agencies using Sungard-HTE management software, ACOM Solutions, Inc. added six more cities to its list of public sector users in the closing weeks of 2007, it was announced today by Senior Vice President James R. Scott.

ACOM is one of the leading providers of payment and document management solutions for the iSeries/System i community and a long-standing business partner of Sungard-HTE. The ACOM family of products includes universal payment platforms for checks, direct deposit and both paper and electronic remittance advice; design and production solutions for all office documents in either paper or electronic format; electronic content management systems; and EDI/XML solutions for electronic commerce.

  • Cities recently added to the Sungard-HTE/ACOM user community include:
  • Battle Ground, Washington: a historic suburb of Portland-Vancouver, with a 2007 population of 16,240. The area was originally the site of a Hudson Bay Company trading post, with the city named for a potential frontier battle that somehow didn’t take place
  • Emporia, Kansas: located in east central Kansas, the city is home to about 26,000 people and is the county seat of Lyons County. Its founding predates the Civil War.
  • Sandy Springs, Georgia: originally a rural village north of Atlanta, Sandy Springs is now Georgia’s 7th largest city with a population of more than 85,000.
  • Johns Creek, Georgia: Not far fromSandy Springs, Johns Creek was created out of an unincorporated area in Northeastern Fulton County, completing the municipalization of that area. It now has a population of more than 62,000.
  • Port Orange, Florida: In Volusia County, north of Tampa, Port Orange grew from only 3,800 people in 1970 to a present population of nearly 60,000.
  • Sugar Land, Texas: One of the fastest growing cities in the state with a population of 80,000, Sugar Land is part of the Houston-Sugar Land-Baytown metroplex. A former sugar plantation, it is still the headquarters and refinery site of Imperial Sugar

The communities have deployed ACOM’s EZPayManager/400 and EZeDocs/400/Forms in a variety of configurations, with most opting also for the Selected Access feature, which provides a high level of payment process security through a combination of multi-level password protection and convenient, ready access to audit logs. Most have also opted for ACOM’s PC-resident EZDesigner/400, a drag-and-drop forms design tool that permits interactive exchange of document templates between PCs and the iSeries/System i computers for new form template design and template maintenance.

“Our long-standing relationship with Sungard-HTE enables communities to migrate to best-practices back office operations at minimum time and expense,” Scott said. “The combination of our systems produces a best-of-breed solution for municipalities, counties and allied agencies, solving major bottlenecks in efficiency and productivity, and also resulting in significant operating economies.

“With taxpayer pressures a constant in government services, users find that with ACOM solutions they can meet public expectations without putting undue strain on their budgets – particularly in the kind of growth areas that most of these communities represent,” Scott said.
