Performer Shauna Goodgold wows sold out duplex cabaret theatre audience. Shauna was just featured as the fresh faced voice in Scott Alan’s (Scott Alan, Piece The Musical) Monday Nights, New Voices at the duplex cabaret theatre to packed room in New York City

New York, NY,April 18,2008 — Shauna Goodgold, born in St Louis, started her career at the tender age of five, doing hip, choreographed runway modeling for a then unknown fashion stylist/choreographer Kithe Brewster. Now Kithe is an A-List celebrity stylist whose clients include Project Runway, Heidi Klum, Iman, Gwenyth Paltrow, and Salma Hayek & many more.
He knew Shauna was special.

Shauna is now living a New York performers dream. One of her goals is to reach out to young talent to help them find their dreams. She recently was picked for The Fresh Talent Program, which offers youth groups the opportunity to learn and connect with accomplished performing artists on the rise. This program includes an interactive component, following each performance.The artists are available to talk with individuals one-on-one. During this time audience members may share personal aspirations and learn more about the lives of these rising performers. The audience has the rare opportunity to ask questions about pursuing a career in the performing arts. Only sixteen talented individuals make up Fresh Talent’s outstanding program.

This acclaimed musical series, produced by composer Scott Alan, showcases some of “Today’s Brightest New Voices in New York” (Alan wrote the book, music and lyrics for the musical Detour, which played a ten-week, sold-out run at the Complex Theater in Los Angeles.) Shauna belted the songs of the award winning contemporary duo Lowdermilk and Kerrigan (Henry and Mudge). “I’m so blown away that I will be on the same stage with these amazingly talented people. Since I was a baby- all I could hear was music in my head,” Shauna beamed!!!

The Duplex Cabaret Theatre has been the venue of choice for the Award-Winning “MONDAYS NIGHTS, NEW VOICES” series, featuring new works from composers both up and coming and LEGENDARY, from Frank Wildhorn to Stephen Schwartz, Charles Strouse to Galt MacDermot and many more! The DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE has served as a jewel in the crown of the NYC cabaret world for over fifty years. Hal Holbrook, was The Duplex’s first Booking agent. Such performers as Barbra Steisand, Woody Allen and Joan Rivers, have graced it’s stage, the list too long to name!

The 7 PM concert spotlighted the songs of Brian Lowdermilk and Kait Kerrigan. Barbara Anselmi was be the evening’s musical director.

Shauna has lent her voice to several recordings and productions and has hit the stages of such well-known clubs as Don’t Tell Mama and Swing 46. She has sung lead and background vocals in such productions as Austin’s Bridge by Broadway director/writer Bill C. Davis, Music Theatre International’s Broadway Junior Collection (MTI) CD recording of Once on This Island, HBO, Scholastic, Rooms to Go Kids, Starbuck and Co. with Broadway performer/Tony Award nominee Rebecca Luker (Rebecca Luker) and Danny Burstein Behind the Stage Door with Danny Burstein (BroadwayWorld.com) and was chosen as the young opening vocalist for Rita Moreno for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation event held in St. Louis, Mo.

Shauna is currently assisting well-known musical conductor Keith Levenson, (Open Labs – Keith Levenson), who has conducted the Broadway and National Touring productions of “Annie” with Nell Carter and Sally Struthers, “Grease” with Deborah Gibson and MacKenzie Phillips, “Jesus Christ Superstar”, “Big River”, “Chess”, “Annie Warbucks” and Tony and Grammy Award-winning “Dreamgirls”. He served as Musical Supervisor of the National Tour of “The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas” starring Ann-Margret, the National Tour of “Tommy”- just a tidbit of his career. He keeps Shauna gleefully musically hopping with his many projects.

On April 17th & April 18th, Shauna will be working with Wilson Jermaine Heredia, who won a Tony Award for his performance as Angel in the original cast of Broadway’s Rent, in a reading of the new musical Avarice.Shauna plays the quirkyy “BAD” girl Directed by Suzanne Rydz with musical direction by Molly Gachignard at the Snapple Theatre in Manhattan. Show time each night is 6:30 PM. Avarice features book and lyrics by J. William Bruce and music by Bruce and David A. Shenton. The Snapple Theatre is located in Manhattan at 210 West 50th, 4th floor.
