Muxi reinvents itself and allows all professionals to grow their reputations

Brussels and Paris, December 3, 2012. Muxi, the first true professional social network, has reinvented itself. Initially organized by profession via 40 fraternities, Muxi announces that it has removed these fraternities in order to increase interactions between users. ?Following our launch last July, many users expressed their desire to be able to connect with colleagues in different fields. We are delighted to respond positively to this request by removing the fraternity concept entirely. This is an important stage in the development of Muxi, which coincides with the implementation of a whole new interface and a new iPhone app,? explains Bertrand Besse, Muxi?s co-founder and CEO.

Exchange with colleagues

The concept for Muxi originated from a simple observation: existing professional social networks were launched before Facebook and are mainly large databases of online CVs for recruiters, rather than a real place for professionals to connect with one another. “Having one?s CV online is not enough anymore to be recruited or to seize new professional opportunities. One needs to exchange with other professionals in order to expand his network and hone his expertise,” Besse states.

Grow your reputation

A reputation system has been put into place in order to increase the visibility of users whose posts are the most relevant. Thus, a user whose posts are frequently acknowledged by his colleagues as valuable, informative, or interesting will have a better reputation. “We have implemented a very simple system: when someone likes a post or a comment, he can star it. The more stars a user gets, the more he will increase his reputation within the Muxi community,? Besse explains.

iPhone, iPad and web

As social networks are being accessed more and more through tablets and smartphones, the iPhone app has been completely revamped. iPhone 5 owners in particular will benefit from an optimized application for their mobile devices. The web interface is also completely compatible with the iPad.
