NIFM to train the first batch of ICFe Faculty ICFe organises 1st programme for Faculty Training under PublicPrivate partnership from August 18th, 2008

The Institute of Computer and Finance executives (ICFe), today formally announced the beginning of their first programme for Faculty training by NIFM (National Institute of Financial Management), under Public Private Parnership. This “Faculty Upgradation” programme a fully residential one, will be held at the NIFM, Faridabad campus from the 18th to the 22nd of August 2008 and will see participation of 20 faculty members of ICFe.

NIFM Faridabad is an autonomous training institute under the Ministry of Finance, Government of India. NIFM is a strategic consultant to ICFe for faculty training and is creating special modules dedicated to inculcating the right teaching methods and methodologies in ICFe faculty. The training programme will focus on sharing details of new developments in finance and accounts. The NIFM faculty will train ICFe on the most effective pedagogy in order to handle students’ queries as well as hone ICFe’s presentation and teaching skills.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr.G.P. Gupta, Director, NIFM said “We believe that accounts and finance should not be the domain of few and students from across the country need to be trained about the latest trends of industry in order to come at par with their counterparts across the globe. For this the faculty has to be well equipped with the necessary knowledge, information and latest teaching skills. We at NIFM strongly believe in taking the standards of Financial Education to the highest International levels and feel that Public Private Partnerships of this sort can actually help the Indian cause”.

The 5-day programme provides training to the Teachers of ICFe centers spread across the North India in a number of new Financial techniques. The ‘Faculty Upgradation’ programme will take place under Prof. K.P.Kaushik, Prof of Finance and Accounts, NIFM. “We are basically creating a specialized “training the trainer programme”, wherein teachers from ICFe will be trained by our experienced Accounts and Finance faculty. The 5 day programme will give them exposure to the financial education which is beyond the conventional modes of Accountancy”, says Prof. Kaushik.

ICFe has taken this initiative to impart quality education among its students spread in Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Delhi and NCR. ICFe realizes the need to not only train the future accountants but in order to do so, also effectively and constantly re-train their faculty so that they can impart the latest training to their students most effectively.

Mr. Santosh Mangal, Managing Director, ICFe says “We believe that the best students are those who are trained by the most effective teachers. And who best to train our faculty than the trainers of the bureaucracy. We believe that this programme will help us retain our cutting edge over any other player in the business”. The programme will empower the teachers with the knowledge of new techniques for optimally managing their regular work and bettering their teaching methodologies in the field of Finance & accounts.

Mr. Mangal further added, “that it is the governments endeavour to provide jobs to all our youth. With NIFM training the ICFe faculty we are hoping to help in this effort. NIFM trained ICFe faculty will be able to considerably enhance the employable skills of their students in even the remotest areas of India providing the much needed platform for these students to be gainfully employed.”

NIFM and ICFe aim to provide quality and professional training to faculty to help them make students proficient in the field of finance, insurance, banking, taxation. This Public Private Partnership is probably the first initiative of its kind in the sector.
