Olympic Airspace Survey & Realtime Statistics Launched

O

Guildford, UK, 17th  July, 2012 – RocketRoute, the fast flight planning company has today announced a survey for the General Aviation (GA) community. The survey aims to capture feedback from pilots who have already flown within the new Olympic restricted airspace. RocketRoute will share these results with the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).

Since the newly restricted Olympic airspace was introduced (on Friday the 13th ) RocketRoute has experienced extremely high levels of support calls from pilots asking for clarification and expressing concerns.  We now want to formally capture this feedback via our survey:

In addition, RocketRoute will soon publish the average waiting times for an Approval from ATLAS Control to Pilots covering a 24 hour period. This will help to educate pilots caught in any delays that arise from filing flight plans.

For pilots that would like to use RocketRoute for flight planning and filing with ATLAS Control during the Olympics, they can sign up for a free 14 day account from RocketRoute. In addition, AOPA members can benefit from free use of RocketRoute during the Olympics (see AOPA for details).
