Palencia Holiday Showhomes’ Festivities to Include Jingle Bell Run

St. Augustine, Fla. (October 24, 2007) – Among the many activities planned for Palencia’s Season of Giving and Holiday Showhomes is a Jingle Bell 5K run.

The third annual Holiday Showhomes event, All Through The House, will feature four magnificently decorated European Collection model homes by ICI Homes, located in Bella Terra at Palencia.

Nestled along the Intracoastal Waterway off U.S. 1 between St. Augustine and Jacksonville, Palencia is designed for 2,350 residences featuring a variety of housing options by lifestyle and price from the $200’s to more than $4 million, including new innovative Village Center live/work units, cottages, villas, condominiums, single-family and pristine estate homes and lots.

Proceeds from the six-week long event will benefit four charities; Builder’s Care, Trinity Rescue Mission’s Women and Children’s Home, The St. Francis House in St. Augustine and the Jacksonville Humane Society,

In addition to a wine tasting and golf tournament on Palencia’s private, championship Arthur Hills designed course, Palencia is teaming with 1st Place Sports for the Jingle Bell 5K Run this year, which will take place on Dec. 8. The run kicks off with a one-mile fun run for children starting at 3 p.m., followed by the main event starting at 4 p.m.

There will be luminaries lighting the way throughout the award-winning community as well as carolers singing classic holiday favorites.

A park-and-ride shuttle will run participants from their cars to the starting line. When participants cross the finish line, they will be treated to an awards reception with live entertainment and drinks and refreshments. T-shirts and finisher medals will be given to all runners.

The cost to participate in the one-mile fun run is $5, the 5K is $15 through Dec. 1 and $25 after that date.

The doors to the Holiday Showhomes will open to the public on Nov. 3 and run through Dec. 15. Viewing hours will be Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.

In lieu of admission to the Holiday Showhomes, Palencia will collect unwrapped toys and non-perishable food items. Other related events will be priced accordingly and all proceeds will benefit the above named charities.
