Performance Improvement Council’s new white paper Focuses on building an innovative business culture

NAPERVILLE, Ill., Sept. 28, 2011 – An improving economy will make it more important than ever for companies to build a culture based on innovation and employee engagement, or risk losing out on future opportunities, according to a new white paper published by the Performance Improvement Council (PIC) titled, “People Power Sets the Pace for Innovation.”

“The massive employment reductions over the past several years occurred with little thought about the effect on employment engagement strategies, leading to potential dangerous consequences,” said Performance Improvement Council President Mike Ryan, who is senior vice president of marketing and client strategy for Madison Performance Group. “As companies look for ways to grow, the need to maximize the talents and ideas of all stakeholders – employees, suppliers, and customers – is more important than ever before.”

Jerry Klein, the paper’s contributing author and senior solution design strategist at Maritz Loyalty and Motivation, said this latest paper from the PIC draws from many authoritative experts in the fields of innovation, and offers specific examples of innovative thinking and engagement which have created new and successful enterprises. “However,” Klein cautions, “innovation needs to be part of an organization’s strategy and innovative practices need to be consistently reinforced by all levels of management.”
