Persistent Systems Announces Professional Services for Cisco Quad at Enterprise 2.0 Conference

San Jose, CA – June 22, 2011: Persistent Systems (BSE & NSE: PERSISTENT), a leader in outsourced software product development services, at the Enterprise 2.0 Conference, in Boston, Mass., today announced a set of professional service offerings and software extensions for Cisco Quad, an enterprise collaboration platform. Persistent now offers deployment, integration and lifecycle services for Cisco Quad.

Cisco Quad is an enterprise collaboration software platform that helps organizations deliver social, mobile, and virtual workspace to their employees. Cisco Quad combines the power of social networking with real-time communications, and integrates with existing business and content management systems. Persistent brings the strengths and capabilities of more than 600 people in its Collaboration Practice to other Cisco Quad partners.

Persistent has invested in a Center of Excellence (CoE) which is developing value-add professional services and software extensions around the Cisco Quad platform. The CoE team includes experienced architects who are focused on building well-designed, fully integrated collaboration solutions for end customers. The CoE is also building strategy consulting capabilities for the Cisco Quad platform.

“Persistent brings strong capabilities in the collaboration and enterprise professional service areas, which will serve Cisco, our customers and partners well,” said Murali Sitaram, vice president and general manager of Cisco’s Collaboration Software Group. “We look forward to their innovation on the Cisco Quad platform.”

Persistent will offer the following professional services for Cisco Quad:
• Cisco Quad sandbox environment and hosting in the cloud
• Collaboration roadmap consulting to formulate program governance, use cases, adoption strategy and business integration
• End to-end deployment services for Cisco’s enterprise customers from planning to “go-live”
• System integration services for integrating Cisco Quad with the existing subsystems

In addition, the Persistent CoE team is developing a number of customers packaged and tested solutions for key enterprise integrations with Cisco Quad. These software extensions include:
• A Microsoft® Office extension which allows users to publish content directly to Cisco Quad. The software extension also provides offline access to Cisco Quad content via syncing to a local folder
• An advanced social visualization tool which provides alternate views of user profiles and collaboration communities
• Integration with a leading enterprise Business Process Management (BPM) platform, giving Cisco Quad customers the ability to use sophisticated workflow and business process integration in their collaboration environments

“Collaboration is one of our key focus area, with our investment in Cisco Quad we will be able to support customers deploying this forward-looking platform, one of the first to fully integrate unified communications into social collaboration within the enterprise,” said Hari Haran, President of Persistent Systems, Inc. “We firmly believe that Cisco Quad will be a platform of choice for Fortune 1,000 enterprises.
