The real life story of the family who defied the Nazis in Poland during WW II and saved lives during the Holocaust as depicted in the Academy Award nominated movie “Defiance” is the topic of conversation with Sharon Rennet, Robert Boesky, and Ruth Boesky Herrick – granddaughter, son and daughter of freedom fighter Tulia Boesky. These family members will discuss how the Nazi-persecuted man set up a self-sustaining village in the wilderness, successfully defied the Nazis, and maintained a self-contained society while losing only about 50 of their some 1,200 members.

Joe Fab, Emmy-nominated producer, writer and director, will discuss his documentary film, “Paper Clips,” a moving story about a classroom project in Tennessee that sparked one of the most inspirational and profound lessons in tolerance in the least likely places. This inspiring documentary film captures how classroom students responded to lessons they had learned in the school about the Holocaust which resulted with a promise to honor every lost soul by collecting one paper clip for each individual exterminated by the Nazis. “Paper Clips” was named one of the top five documentaries of 2004 by the National Board of Review of Motion Pictures, and the films overriding message of patience, perseverance, empathy, and tolerance.
