Day 1, Friday, Feb 24, is a full day conference that includes a track for ground breaking start-ups who will deliver the stories behind their creative led innovation. Additionally the most established innovation icons in the nation, such as Bombardier Recreational Products, Lululemon Athletica, and Research in Motion Blackberry will go behind-the-scene to demonstrate the magic of their international competitiveness. Panels will articulate the interplay that brings together strategy, engineering, scientific research, investment, and market intelligence
Day 2, Saturday, Feb 25, focuses on in-depth investigations of principles, strategies and how-to methods with small scale workshops. A luncheon address is scheduled with Canada’s national business guru, W. Brett Wilson. One of the more specialized workshop opportunities will be a by-application round table workshop with Industry Canada, all major Canadian design associations and many business and industry sector associations to discuss a National Design Policy and attendant strategies of governance and incentives around creative innovation. In conjunction with the conference, a national industrial design recognition exhibition, featuring the work of 2011 graduates from Canada’s schools of design, will be exhibited in the Concourse Gallery of Emily Carr University of Art + Design, with an opening reception, Thursday, February 23, from 5:00 & 7:00 pm.
