Results of Motor Expo Design Award 2008 Silpakorn Snatched Top “Vehicles…Stop Global Warming” Model Car Award

A student from Silpakorn University won the top prize in “The 9th Motor Expo Design Award 2008”, organized as part of “The 25th THAILAND INTERNATIONAL MOTOR EXPO 2008”. The topic for the contest this year is “Motor Vehicles…Stop Global Warming”, which requires a design of land vehicle that fits in with the target group lifestyle while taking into consideration the issues of global warming, energy source and use of resources.

Mr. Kwanchai Paphatphong, President of Inter-Media Consultant and Organizing Chairman of the 25th Motor Expo revealed, “The 9th Motor Expo Design Award is an automotive design contest organized by Inter-Media Consultant in collaboration with Department of Product Design, Faculty of Decorative Arts, Silpakorn University, Department of Industrial Design, Faculty of Architecture, King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang, and Department of Industrial Design, Faculty of Architecture, Chulalongkorn University with support from Kiatnakin Bank and Necvox International (Thailand), to provide an opportunity for students in automotive design to express their creativity and publicly exhibit their works”.

The panel of judges this year comprise several design experts, namely Mr. Tasanai Raiwa, Chairman of Man Design Studio Co., Ltd., Mr. Pratarn Teeratada from ART 4 D magazine, Mr. Choke-ying Pitaksakorn from Thai Yanyont Co., Ltd., Mr. Hideki Kikuchi, Senior Manager C&G Designer, Research & Development Division, Kawasaki Motor Enterprise (Thailand) Co., Ltd. and Mr. Preecha Archanuparp, Senior Design Engineer, Prodrive Automotive Technology (Thailand) Co., Ltd.

Third Prize
Ms Pachaya Senavongs and Mr. Nopasintu Puttasirirangsi
from Silpakorn University
(Shield of Honour, Certificate and 10,000 Baht education fund)

(each receiving a certificate and 3,000 Baht education fund)

Mr. Kwanchai said in parting, “The Motor Expo is still committed to play a role in advancing the Thai automotive industry by promoting the younger generation to embark upon a career of professional car design, ready to step onto the world scene to make reputation and bring pride to all Thai people”.
