LOS ANGELES (January 30, 2009) — The Brain Aneurysm Foundation (BAF) has appointed Amanda Horan Kennedy, double brain aneurysm survivor and founder of the Sassybax shapewear company, to its board of directors during this month’s meeting at foundation headquarters in Hanover, MA.
Later this year, Kennedy will establish the Amanda Horan Kennedy Chair of Research. She will also play a key role in the BAF’s new public service announcement this spring and develop a consumer-oriented educational program through Sassybax’s sales and marketing channels that are already in place.
The cover story of the new edition of “Thinking Ahead,” the foundation’s quarterly publication, discusses Kennedy’s diagnosis, treatment, and recovery from twin aneurysms. The issue also relays Vice President Joseph Biden’s experience with two brain aneurysms in 1988 and his remarkable and full recovery.
