June 30, 2008 — Life Will Never Be The Same American Premiere of British Musical “TOMORROW MORNING” The Spirit of Broadway Theater When tomorrow morning comes, twenty-somethings John and Kat played by New York actress Shauna Goodgold, will marry and embark on a new life, while the forty-something couple, John and Catherine, will sign their divorce papers.

Shauna is “amazed that I am so much apart of this character Kat. I found myself calling everyone I knew, asking them what they did the night before to prepare for their wedding day. Some of the stories are tragically hilarious!”

These are the characters and their stories of the delightful and intimate new musical, TOMORROW MORNING by British composer Laurence Mark Wythe, which will have it’s American Premiere production at The Spirit of Broadway Theater (SBT) beginning Wednesday, June 25 at 8pm and running through Sunday, July 27, 2008.

TOMORROW MORNING had it’s British Premiere in Hampstead, London at the New End Theatre in 2006. The London production was awarded Third Place in the U.K’s Theatre Radio’s Best Musical of 2006, losing only to AVENUE Q and WICKED, yet beating out West End powerhouse productions of SUNDAY IN THE PARK, DIRTY DANCING and SPAMALOT. The show was presented by Theatre Building Chicago in at the Stages Festival of New Musicals in August 2007, and was also a Top 20 finalist for the National Alliance for Musical Theatre’s annual festival of new works in New York in October.

The American Premiere production is being directed by SBT founding Artistic Director, Brett A. Bernardini, Orchestrations by Richard Guastamachio, Musical Direction by Paul Feyer and Lighting Design by Glenn J. Michaud. The cast for the production stars Lisa Foss (AEA) as Catherine, Shauna Goodgold as Kat, Jeremy Jonet as John and Frank Calamaro as Jack.

“As promised, we have been delivering an amazing season of professional theater with the finest in talent” said SBT Board President, Mark Barry. “Our audiences wanted more from us this year and we have been delivering. Our most recent show, THE LAST SESSION, was an amazing production with Kevin Wood headlining the cast.

TOMORROW MORNING features four gifted actors and a story and musical score that is the perfect addition to anyone’s summer! We are continuing to deliver the innovation and professional production our audiences have grown to expect. TOMORROW MORNING is certainly going to live up to those expectations…in a big way!”

“When I was planning the season last year, I found this show and knew it had to start its’ American journey at The Spirit of Broadway Theater” said Spirit of Broadway Artistic Director, Brett A. Bernardini. “This is a delightful, engaging, tuneful and moving show about being in love. It’s small cast and memorable music just screamed for it to be produced first at SBT. We have hired an orchestrator who has given the show a very American Pop Musical Theater flavor. I have been working with the author to re-focus the show for American audiences and remove the British colloquialisms. We have re-ordered many of the events to sharpen its’ story-telling and the results are very, very exciting! Audiences are going to love this…especially the surprise of the show.”

“I read this show as part of SBT’s Reader Circle program last fall” said SBT subscriber, Jan Hendrickson. “I loved reading this. I really liked the music, it was so touching and yet at other times, it made me laugh out loud! I loved SBT’s production of GLIMMERGLASS, and then I fell in love with THE LAST SESSION. Watch…I’ll be falling in love with this show next! What a season!!”

“We live so much of our lives on auto-pilot”, said Bernardini. “We don’t take the time to nurture our relationships. We take them for granted; be they friendships or more intimate. We yearn for those days of when we ‘first’ discovered the other person and how they make us feel, but we do so little to keep that feeling alive, real and honest as time goes on. We expect things. We want things. We need things. In the end, we often up as alone as we started. TOMORROW MORNING reminds us that to take anything for granted is to give it up. How sad.”

This funny, moving and joyful evening of musical theater runs June 25 – July 27, 2008 with performances Wednesday – Saturday evenings at 8:00pm and Sundays at 2pm. Running time for the production, with intermission, is approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes is suitable for audiences high school and up.
