Should Rush Limbaugh be given credit for solving a California family’s gopher problem?

Frustrated by a plethora of ineffective suggestions offered online to deal with a gopher infestation, Ron Scott, a California homeowner turned to talk radio.

Observing that gophers quickly disappear into their holes when they hear a human voice, he hooked a pair of small computer speakers into a portable radio, turned the volume to max, and then inserted the speakers into the freshest mounds.

He reports that the results have been encouraging. “The good news is that it?s been a week now and not one of the uninvited guests has bothered to build a new mound let alone show his fuzzy face,” Ron Scott, he says.

He acknowledges that it?s a little early to declare victory but he believes the tide may have turned.

“While I initially attributed the erradication effort’s success to Rush Limbaugh (he was on at the time the speakers were first put in place) I quickly dismissed the idea because he’s only on for three hours weekday mornings,” Scott says.

The question then arose in his mind whether it might be a good idea to record the voice of the most irritating host and broadcast that recording day in, day out. With that thought in mind, Scott invites talk radio devotees to cast their vote for the host whose voice they think gophers will find the most irritating.

The poll appears immediately after his most recent blog entry describing his unusual approach to gopher control. To cast a vote visit http://wp.me/p1ZIg5-10d .
