MSP brings their award-winning approach to the table with “CLAIM”, “The Greatest Ski Movie… EVER!” this time poking fun at themselves and the industry as a whole. Highlights from the film include the introduction of 15-year-old phenom Sean Pettit, early season deep pow with Mark Abma, Matchstick’s return to Alaska over the course of four epic shoots, and a speed riding session from Chamonix, France.

SATURDAY
DECEMBER 6, 2008
LOCATION: AKELY BUILDING (TOWN HALL)
‘ISELANKA’ by Cecile Cusin
and ‘THE PACT’ by Powderwhore Productions
and ‘THE FINE LINE’ by Rocky Mountain Sherpa Productions
COST: $5/person

Cecile Cusin, young French Filmmaker, submitted her first short film “Islenska, on the road to unearth Iceland’s secrets” to the Festival. She takes the viewer on an adventure across Iceland.

“The Pact” is born of early mornings, deep trail breaking, frostbite, sunrises, worn meniscus, close calls, and countless faceshots. In the end, it’s about commitment to untracked snow and those who have chosen to break that trail.

“The Fine Line”, directed by Calgary-raised Dave Mossop, this scenically jaw-dropping film mixes Warren Miller-like scenes that will make skiers and snowboarders salivate with sobering tales from avalanche survivors. Mossop also mixes in a dramatic re-enactment of a tragic 1997 avalanche at Fortress Mountain.

All films come to life in vivid large-format digital. If you haven’t seen where the latest boundaries of action sports have been pushed, whether it be on the snow, on land, on water, or in the air, you MUST come experience the Stowe Mountain Film Festival.
