Small comic book company tries to bring its character to the big screen via crowd funding.

Channel M Publishing isn?t a big comic book publisher company, it?s not even a medium size one. In fact, its one of the dozens of small publishing companies with characters you?ve never heard of, but if their plans work out, that will change.

Malcolm Harris, an award winning writer and president of Channel M, knows that most companies his sized are doomed to obscurity, but despite that he wants to bring his company’s top seller ?Princess Lucinda,? to the big screen, even if he has to do it himself.

?Not everyone has Marvel?s Avengers money or notoriety?, he says. ?And that’s why indie-comic movies are the way to go; we bring something new to comic book movies in a world dominated by superheroes.?

Princess Lucinda is as far from the Avengers as you can get.  It?s the story of a wicked, magical princess exiled to earth, and her adventures. Lucinda has fans all over the world who love her dark and comedic adventures and Channel M thinks those fans deserve to see their favorite character on the big screen.

Channel M is using Kickstarter http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/channelm/princess-lucinda-the-movie to fund their movie. They are asking their fans and everyone else to chip in so they can not only make an entertaining movie, but a movie that inspires other independent comic book publishers to do what they are doing..

?Comics have so much to offer moviegoers?, says Channel Art Director Abby Soto, ?All we want to do is to give people new worlds and characters to explore.”
