Turn off the iphone, and unplug it from any power source. Take the SIM card out. You can straighten a paper clip and insert the tip of it into the small hole on the top of your iphone to pop out your SIM card. Remove screws. There are two small screws at the bottom of phone. You find and unscrew them using a screwdriver. Insert the flat-head screwdriver into the crevice on top of the phone between the LCD and back cover, and pry it open. Once it is opened, you will notice that there are three cables connecting the LCD to the motherboard, which is tagged with numbered 1, 2, and 3. You need to remove them in its numerical order, and disconnect the first two with your fingers. And you need to slip the flat-head screwdriver underneath the third cable on the motherboard to pry it up. After you have removed the first three cables, you can now remove the cable 4, 5, 6 from the motherboard in the same numerical order. You can use the flat-head screwdriver to pop them up. After these processes, you can now access the motherboard and get to the battery. You will notice there are seven screws on the motherboard, remove them. As one of the screws is underneath a label, you will need to bend that label back and remove. Now, you can lift the motherboard away from the bottom assembly. You can do this by using the flat-head screwdriver to pry it up at varying points. You should do this gently and carefully. The motherboard is still connected to the camera by a cable. Lift the camera’s cable away from the motherboard with the flat-head screwdriver, and then remove the motherboard. Pull the clear tab that is connected to the battery up with your hand. After the iphone battery is lifted up, you can now stick in your replacement battery. The last thing then is to reassemble you iphone in the inverse order.
