Hiram, Georgia – October 15, 2009 – New Season Church members have recently been hearing message surrounding family issues delivered by Pastor Steve Flockhart. A man who is dedicated to his family himself, the pastor put emphasis on how families, marriages, and children are constantly facing threats against community’s smallest unit, which is the family. ?The Family Vacation,? a series of messages outlined and preached by Pastor Steve Flockhart tackles trying family situations and provides guidelines on how God would want us to deal with such situations.
“The Family Vacation? series included activities aimed to help foster deeper ties within families and the whole congregation. These activities include a visit to the park, putt putt, bowling, a chance to watch an Atlanta Braves game, and some other activities.
?The Family Vacation? series by Steve Flockhart discussed common challenges that are faced with families of today. There was a message for couple, young ones, teenagers, and even single parents dealing with pressure to raise their children on their own. ?I want to do all that I can to help reclaim our families for Christ,? Steve, who is married with six children, says. Steve likes spending weekends playing games with his wife, Virgie, and children. He
considers the success of his six children, his greatest achievement.
Steve Flockhart, pastor at New Season Church in Georgia, sees the success of his children in their personal endeavors as his greatest achievement. Also, his ultimate goal in life is to build a stronger partnership with God to establish more strong churches and sharing the grace of God to the tired and the weary.
As a messenger of God’s word, Steve is out to claim for families for Christ. Steve Flockhart studied at the Covington Theological Seminary. He has served as pastor in three churches including New Season, which is located in Hiram, Georgia. The church started out with 40 members or so then saw a significant growth 15 months after it was opened. At present, the weekly average attendance is 600 with some 300 people baptized and renewing their relationship with Christ.
Steve Flockhart is knows as a warm, energetic, and passionate church leader. He is busy with counseling, visitations, preparing his message for church service, participating in outreach and community activities, and planning church activities.
The pastor has a special charisma that leaves church goers hanging on to his every word and returning every Sunday to hear more. As could be seen with the congregation’s growth over a short period of time, Steve has a gift for sharing God’s word without alienating his listeners.
