Teepee tents have continually held a fascination with me, from the time I used to be a little youngster. I would play cowboys and Indians with my pals. My father had bought me a tiny teepee tent, nothing elegant I would add, only large enough for two people to sit down inside, still it was brilliant. We all wanted to become Indians and so have a chance in the tent.
Well that was years ago and today I i’m somewhat more mature, I still have a love of teepees and of camping, I’ve been on a number of vacations as well as festivals with a teepee . They still and definately will always hold a passion for me. I think that this took place from all of the camping that i did, while I was much younger (about sixteen ) We would go camping out a great deal. I spent my youth in a country where great weather conditions was abundant (it still is )
I went camping out at least once per month over the weekend and when it was summer break i was in the bush for almost all the time. My home is the british isles right now and it’s really an alternative life. I see young adults hanging about on street corners and it tends to make me a little sad, back when I was what their age is I was already driving boats and cars, I was visiting camping locations on my own with my buddies.
I built a teepee together with my buddies, we made the rods our selfs and my mother made the covering with canvas we copied from a book that I found in the modest college local library, it took me and my buddies 30 days to make it, Every single weekend we would get together and work on the rods, while my mother made the covering. it wasn’t very waterproof however that was okay we had created it!
The actual tent is now long since gone, only a recollection, I have even lost touch with the buddies that I knew growing up much like me they have relocated to different parts of the planet, settled down and also have got families I am sure . It is really not the camping tent that is important here. It’s the fact that we all constructed it our selves, it was that began my own long quest to where I’m right now, it educated me to be independent, to have courage and ambition and most importantly above all it trained me in the power of having goals.
Teepee tents are still with me no , I have not made one for a long time, I rent them now when I choose to go camping out. they still make me have the same as I did those in the past. When I am camping I am an adventurer, a traveler plus a finder of enjoyment and lost treasure. All the worries of the world are no longer and I am at peace with nature. I’ve got a wee daughter now and I wish that one day soon I will take her camping out, we’ll hire a teepee and go on a journey – Hopefully it’s going to teach her the same things which it taught me.
