Swine Flu Deaths on the Rise in Florida

Florida, July 27, 2009: With 14 new confirmed deaths in Florida this week, the state’s total death count has jumped to 26. The Florida Department of Health states that, if this pandemic continues, there may be as many as 5 million cases of swine flue in the next year in Florida. The department says that the number of serious respiratory complications may be explained by the virus’ ability to get deeper into lung tissues. Experts say that many more cases can be expected as public and private schools open next month.

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention has declared a global pandemic and states that to prevent the spread of the virus it is important to keep surfaces clean by wiping them down with a disinfectant proven to kill the virus. Some Florida companies like QCI, Inc. offer Swine Flu disinfectant fogging and wipe-down services for Florida schools, offices, prisons, businesses, and residential homes. The company offers 24 hour Emergency Service throughout the state of Florida, and claims to offer superior disinfecting and sanitizing through the use of state of the art equipment and procedures. They offer electrostatic fogging with a complete one-step quaternary disinfectant cleaner proven to combat a broad spectrum of bacteria, including HIV-1, the AIDS virus, MRSA, and Influenza A/Brazil (H1N1) commonly known as Swine Flu. Electrostatic fogging creates a perfect cloud of very small, like size, evenly spaced, electrically charged droplets which are attracted to targeted areas like a magnet, wrapping around the tops, sides and bottoms of surfaces to provide a superior, uniform coating. QCI, Inc says this remarkable phenomenon is called electrostatic “wraparound” and that this procedure is much more effective for treating all areas than simply wiping down surfaces.

The State Surgeon General recommends that people with respiratory illness should stay home from work or school to avoid spreading infections, including influenza, to others in the community. They further recommend avoiding close contact with people who are coughing or otherwise appear ill, avoiding touching your eyes, nose and mouth, and washing hands frequently to lessen the spread of respiratory illness.
