Situated in the heart of the Melbourne CBD, Bespoked, a new comer to men’s tailoring, is delivering an innovative approach to custom made suits and shirts. Bespoked has created a unique offering, which has taken the convenience of online shopping and combined it with the personalised service and customisation of tailoring. Through the combined use of fully interactive website and their local showroom, customers are able to have an initial, one-on-one consultation in which a staff member will guide them through their first design process and create a unique online profile. After the customers profile is finalised it is uploaded so they can design and purchase all their future garments via the website.
The idea for Bespoked started, over a year ago, as a conversation between a few friends. Each had worked for a number of years in various office jobs but found it hard to get well fitting suits and shirts at a reasonable price. Justin, Bespoked main shareholder, recalled a recent trip overseas where he had a number of excellent hand tailored garments made at very reasonable prices and realised there was an opportunity to bring the product to the local market. “Our initial research told us that most men hated spending their weekends shopping for business wear which often resulted in ill fitting garments anyway. We realised the use of an online platform would allow us to make this process as painless as possible, as well as allowing us to offer significantly lower prices, then if we had an expensive shopfront. In our group we were always discussing potential business opportunities but this one was the only one that when we told people they could all see the lack of a competing product in the market, so we knew we were onto something”
In less than a year, since the launch of the website, the number of clients enjoying Bespoked’s made-to-measure service continues to grow. Although initially only servicing the Melbourne metropolitan area, Bespoked already have numerous customers from other cities around Australia and overseas. Their plan is to expand into all major Australian cities, with a view to create a permanent presence in Sydney in the next 12-24 months.
Bespoked’s showroom is located at 303 Collins Street and customers can make appointments from 8.30am -7.00pm, Monday to Friday and 9.30 – 5.00pm Saturdays. Bespoked also conduct office visits by request.
