Get a ‘taste’ for great graduate training from Focus

Employers who want to get the best out of their graduates trainees (change to graduates) are being invited to a taster day to find out more about how experiential (add and behavioural) training can help.

Lancashire based experiential training experts Focus Training have organised the forum to demonstrate their range of programmes (bespoke approach) aimed at helping graduates work more efficiently and effectively as part of a team.

The free event takes place at Focus’s purpose built training centre at Clough Bottom, near Clitheroe, Lancashire, on February 26, and will also include a structured networking session so that businesses can share examples of good practice in graduate development.

Experiential Training involves a mix of classroom style teaching and informal, practical sessions that give delegates the chance to practice newly learned skills like leadership and influencing.

Focus uses orienteering sessions and a range of other outdoor team activities to reinforce behaviour change and trainers are encouraged to join in (be involved) so that they can support graduates back in the workplace and ensure lessons learned are not forgotten. (reinforced)

The company’s Business Development Manager, Shelly Posthuma de Boer, said: “We offer bespoke training packages that can be delivered in-house or in the beautiful setting of Focus’s 360 acre organic farm.

“Graduates are the future of business, so all firms should be looking at the effectiveness of their training programmes. How well do they manage to retain their intake of graduate trainees? Are they helping them to reach their full potential?

“Our methods help graduates to learn quickly and the results are seen in an immediate improvement in their performance.”

The taster day will look at how market trends affect the type of graduates businesses should aim to recruit and demonstrate a range of workshops that could be included in a customised training package.

Key features of the event are:

• How companies can get the best out of their graduate trainees, develop their talent and help them to responsibility for their personal development
• Giving practical and effective tools to help graduates settle quickly into their job so that everyone benefits
• How employers can motivate graduates to share their passion for the future success of the business

A free graduate training checklist is currently available to download from the website www.focus-training.net/graduate-training.html for anyone who wants to assess the effectiveness of their existing programme.

Focus Training has been established for 18 years, offering experiential training sessions run by coaches (facilitators) who have worked in business and understand the pressures and demands of the workplace.

Sessions take place in converted stone barns fitted out with the latest hi-tech training and conference facilities.

Other bespoke training programmes offered by Focus include team building, team leader programmes, ILM qualifications, leadership training and executive coaching.
