New ‘Tempod’ USB Blood Temperature Data Logger to be Launched at East Midlands Regional Transfusion Committee Annual Study Day in Nottingham on 23 January.

120 delegates from a wide variety of hospital clinical groups are due to attend, including haematologists, physicians, nurses and scientific staff. The theme of the day is based around ’risks, reactions and reporting’ in transfusion.

Designed to record temperature conditions for bloods and other sensitive goods in transit, storage and distribution, new ‘Tempod’ from The IMC Group is the most convenient, cost-effective and efficient series of USB temperature data loggers on the market.

Specifically for storage and transit environments (measurement range from -30°C to +70°C) the USB connection on the data logger allows quick and easy connection to a PC at any time and provides users with an accurate temperature history.

The user is notified if the monitored product or item has been exposed to unacceptable temperature conditions that could compromise quality. By alerting and recording when a temperature breach has occurred users are able to minimise the risk of reoccurrence and can assign accountability while giving reassurance and providing visibility.

Tempod complies with RTCA/DO-160G Environmental Conditions and Test Procedures for Airborne Equipment to qualify for air transport monitoring and EN 12830 for transport, storage and distribution.
