The phrase ‘staycation’ comes from America (where else?) and describes a holiday spent at or near your home. Rising prices, huge fuel surcharges for flights abroad and a slowing economy could see a record number of Britons holidaying in the UK in 2008.
This trend could benefit the charming and sophisticated seaside town of Aldeburgh on the Suffolk coast. The town’s longest established hotel, the White Lion, is already detecting increased demand.
