Twickenham Experience employ new Head Chef for Conference and Banqueting

Ryan Matthee is our new Head Chef for Conference and Banqueting.

Born in Zimbabwe, Ryan started out his catering career at the Centurion Lake Hotel in Pretoria, South Africa before moving to the UK in 1998.

While living in West Sussex, he continued his catering studies before moving to London in 1999 where he worked at the Green House Restaurant in Mayfair until 2001 when he moved to Chives restaurant on the Fulham Road, nominated for Best New Restaurant 2001.

In 2002 Ryan moved back to West Sussex to work in the popular Horse Guards Gastro Pub in the village of Tillington. He began his sporting venues career in 2004 working at Ascot and Reading Football club before becoming head chef at Gillingham Football Club in 2006.

Ryan took his current role as Head Chef for Twickenham Experience in September 2007 where he has been tasked with developing new menus for the stadium’s ever growing conference and events business. In 2008 the new South Stand – a huge re-development project at the venue – will open and is set to increase Twickenham’s Conference and banqueting facilities

With excellent chef skills and experience, Ryan is sure to make a real impact at Twickenham.
