Ukrainian agricultural complexes will use biogas from production wastes

Ukrainian construction company ZORG Ukraine successfully completed an engineering plan of a biogas plant for a pig-rearing agricultural complex in Dnepropetrovsky region. According to Igor Aksiutov, company’s marketing director, plant’s capacity will reach 400 thousands m3 of biogas per annum. Biogas will be burned on a thermoelectric power station to produce electricity (125 kilowatt per hour) and heat (150 kilowatt per hour). More essentially, net cost of biogas will be 15-20 Euro for 1 000 m3.

“Biogas plant will provide the pig-rearing complex with electricity and heating system, in addition, plant’s owners will be able to supply electricity for the neighboring city Podgorodny. It would only take a few biogas plants with the same capacity to provide for all city’s needs in electrical power,” – commented Igor Aksiutov.

As planned, construction works will be finished by the end of the year. Biogas plant will not only function as a thermoelectric power station but also as high-quality purification facility. Since biogas is produced by anaerobic digestion in the absence of oxygen, the process is ecologically clean and environmentally-friendly.
