ATP unveil ecological USB storage drive

Electronics manufacturer ATP has unveiled a new USB drive that is bio-recyclable.

The EarthDrive is encased in recycled material, is waterproof, shockproof and dustproof and part of the revenue raised will be donated to environmental groups.

Michael Palskin, vice-president of sales with ATP, revealed that the drive was part of a company move to become more environmentally responsible.

He said: “The EarthDrive takes our more than fifteen years of effort, design and quality implementation in the memory marketplace to the next level.

“Now, more than anytime in the history of our company, we are committed to creating products that take into consideration the environmental impact on our world and our global community,” he added.

Meanwhile, Iomega has revamped its eGo range of portable drives by adding new higher capacity models to its existing fleet.

As well as being available in a range of colours, the product is also available in 160GB and 250GB versions.
