During March and April there will be genuine discounts of up to 15% promoted on their website.
Managing Director Dave Wolfenden, who launched Abacus in 1987, says that whilst there has been a downturn in the hire industry, he believes that an aggressive approach towards attracting a greater market share during a traditionally quiet time of the year will benefit the long term growth of the business.
“We intend to take advantage of the fact that Abacus has been built on sound financial foundations and therefore are in the fortunate position to attract new business with these discounts so that potential customers can appreciate hiring from fleet of well maintained, latest model vehicles,” said Dave Wolfenden. “This is the first time we have been so bold as we have preferred to enjoy steady growth – but now is the time for us to challenge and influence the market. We are also in late and still sensitive negotiation stages to expand into the first of two additional hire centres and hope to announce the deal soon.”
With a £3.75 million turnover, Abacus and sister company Horton Vehicles at the Ferndown Industrial Estate employ 27 staff within their hire, maintenance, vehicle recovery, repair and bespoke body building divisions.
