Montgomery County businesses win over $32 million worth of federal contracts during week of June 23rd 2008.

Rockville, MD, July 1, 2008 — Federal agencies (excluding Department of Defense) awarded contracts worth $32.8 million during the week of June 23 2008 to businesses based in Montgomery County, Maryland.

A total of 256 contracts were awarded to Montgomery County based businesses. Silver Spring companies topped with over $12 million. This was followed by Bethesda ($8.6 million) and Potomac ($6.4 million) in second and third place respectively.

The top two awards last week to Montgomery County firms were from National Institutes of Health (NIH) for research and development services to Silver Spring based Coda Research ($7 million) and Kensington based Advanced Biosciences Laboratories ($5.8 million). At third place is an award for $2.2 million to Bethesda based Financial Management Services by Department of Education for collection services.
