Eight hundred human resources professionals from across the state will meet at the Lansing Center on June 14 for the Second Annual MI HR Day.
Royal Oak, MI, May 26, 2011 — Eight hundred human resources professionals from across the state will meet at the Lansing Center on June 14 for the Second Annual MI HR Day. This year’s keynote speaker is Scott Foster, President of Wellco Corporation, to present “HR Heroics – How to Turn Bad News Into Best Practices & Bounce Back from the Health Care Crisis.”
Foster’s keynote address will focus on new strategies for health care return on investment. “Human Resources has entered into an instrumental time to address health care costs, which are typically the highest expense other than salaries,” Foster says. “Michigan has many great examples of how Human Resources and the C-Suite can work together to improve bottom line profitability and competitiveness.“
The day will culminate with a Proclamation issued by Governor Rick Snyder recognizing the vital role human resources professionals play in recruiting and maintaining a skilled workforce to assist in rebuilding Michigan. Additionally, conference attendees will have the opportunity to sit in on 3 of 12 breakout sessions. The break out sessions will be lead by highly accomplished professionals with a diverse array of experiences.
MI HR Day connects diverse HR Professionals from Michigan’s public and private sectors to provide a forum in which to exchange information, ideas and experiences. Positioned at a critical time for Michigan businesses, the day will address the relevance of the HR function as an integral part of Michigan’s economic gardening and revitalization.
