Go Wild Online With Acacia Africa’s 2010 Brochure – New Small Group Safaris For Real Adventurers

G

Real adventurers are always in search of the next off the beaten track location. So where’s the next hot spot for true explorers?

South Africa might be an unlikely candidate, however, Acacia Africa has incorporated several of the country’s lesser-known locations in its new brochure, along with some hidden treasures including, the landlocked kingdoms of Lesotho and Swaziland. Spurred on by news of the cross party power sharing agreement the tour operator has also decided to incorporate a Zimbabwe based small group safari in the portfolio.

The launch of the new brochure ties in with Acacia Africa’s “Go Wild Online” campaign, which will run from now through to the end of March 2010.

Heath Ashcroft, Marketing Director at Acacia Africa, comments: “Our new brochure offers some truly wild pursuits, challenging terrain and emotive experiences. Whether adventurers are pony trekking through remote Lesotho, swimming with elephants at the Antelope Private Game Reserve in Zimbabwe, volunteering at the “Race Against Extinction Project” in South Africa or animal tracking on foot in Swaziland’s Milwane Wildlife Sanctuary – we can promise an unforgettable African adventure. Our “Go Wild Online” campaign will take these and other novel experiences into the virtual world, allowing adventurers to research, converse and actively participate with other Africa fans on Facebook, Twitter and our blog. Travellers can even journey with us online when they book – as our new online reservations system is up and running.”

The 7-day Rediscover Zimbabwe itinerary is aptly titled; and even if you’ve seen the Victoria Falls, the trip’s starting point, it’s a well-known fact that they are best viewed from the Zimbabwean side. Safari central, the Hwange National Park is said to house the largest number of wildlife in southern Africa and the location is ideal for animal fanatics, as a visit to the Wild Dog Project is included in the experience. Bush walks to view rhino and antelope are available in Matopos National Park, adventurers opting to walk with lions and swim with elephants in the Antelope Private Game Reserve. Accommodation: two person tents in designated campsites with shared facilities (6nts.)

So you’ve experienced the Kruger? No one safari experience is the same so Acacia Africa have included the Big Five National Park in their new 13-day Trek South Africa itinerary. Other lesser known highlights include, the Hluhluwe/Umfolozi Game Reserve renowned for its large herds of rhino and the Royal Natal National Park purported to be one of the most beautiful parks in South Africa.

Want to get even further off the beaten track? Try animal tracking in Swaziland’s Milwane Wildlife Sanctuary, followed by trekking in the Drakensberg Mountains and rugged Lesotho. Visits with the Basotho people and the Zulu are included, trips to the various battle sites where war was waged between the British, Afrikaaner and Zulu armies also featuring on the itinerary. £845pp + local payment from £408pp. Accommodation: twin share rooms with shared facilities.

Acacia Africa’s 11-day Kruger, Lesotho and Battlefields (£695pp + local payment from £206pp) and 6-day Lesotho, Battlefields and Zululand itineraries offer snapshots of South Africa, Lesotho and Swaziland. Budget friendly, the latter is only £390pp + local payment from £182pp. Experience village visits with the Basotho people and pony trekking in Lesotho, followed by a guided walk in the Drakensberg Mountains to view ancient bushman paintings. Visits to the Royal Natal National Park, battlefields and local Zulu villages also feature. Accommodation: twin share rooms with shared facilities.

So you thought you knew South Africa? The 14-day Lesotho, Battlefields and Garden Route and the 19-day Kruger, Lesotho and Garden Route itineraries offer opportunities to journey along South Africa’s remote Wild Coast. The 19-day tour incorporates additional Big Five game drives in the Kruger and a visit to a cheetah breeding project. Highlights available on both trips include, stays at the Western Cape for whale watching and wine tasting, safaris in the Addo Elephant Park, cultural excursions with the Basotho and Zulu people and stops at the various battlefields en route to the rugged Wild Coast. Accommodation: twin share rooms with shared facilities.
