London, UK, November 08, 2011 — Exquisite craft meets space age technology this week, as new shop Doublemoon launches in the heart of the capital on Wednesday 9 November – just as Londoners prepare for the Christmas shopping blitz.
Located in Pimlico, just a stone’s throw from the main transport hub of Victoria station, Double Moon is the creation of Italians Emiliano and Deborah. The couple, originally from Rome, were drawn to the multicultural nature of the UK capital in 2008, bringing with them their individual passions for jewellery and audiovisual technology.
From 4pm til 7pm on Wednesday, shoppers will be invited to browse alongside VIP guests, press and community leaders, taking in the unique collections showcased by Doublemoon, and seeing for themselves how the business’ name embodies the warm relationship between the Italian couple, the ethereal nature of the jewellery pieces, and the space-age technology.
“We love space, and in particular the beauty of the moon,” says Deborah. “And we wanted to capture this in our business. We want to be part of the community, the way the moon is visible to everyone, and we wanted to convey that same sense of dreamy wonder that the moon inspires to everyone who walks through our doors.”
Deborah has brought together the cream of UK talent in jewellery design, from Gill Gallway-Whitehead’s fine wire pieces, to Jian London’s high-end innovative designs, to Gemmological Association Fellow David Howard’s signature Tyre Rings, and many more. Meanwhile Emiliano’s passion for music is showcased in partnership with thepleasurehome, experts in seamlessly integrating features such as home cinema, hi-fi and multi-room audio into any home or space.
“As Italians, a sense of community is very important to us,” says Emiliano. “We are committed to supporting the local area and showcasing UK designers and brands.”
