Florham Park, NJ, September 24, 2010 — KnowledgePoints Learning Center, with locations at the Regency Plaza and Life Time Athletic in Florham Park, will offer two study skills workshops for middle and high school students through the Adult School of the Chathams, Madison and Florham Park. The High School Workshop, which begins October 18, and runs for 8 weeks,, will be held at Madison High School. The seven week Middle School workshop begins on October 19 and will be held at Madison Junior School. Both workshops are open to residents of all area towns.
The Study Skills workshops, which occur once a week for 7-8 weeks, help students to better organize and prepare for quizzes, tests and special projects. Through presentations, interactive discussions and real life examples, students will learn and master effective time management, note taking strategies, test preparation techniques, use of visual aids, research citing and how to avoid plagiarism. “Too often, students understand the concepts and subjects they learn in class, only to perform poorly on exams”, said Kim Hermanns, Director of Learning at KnowledgePoints. “The Study Skills workshop is ideal for students who need to develop skills and strategies in order to prepare for class, homework and tests. Once mastered, these skills and techniques can foster a lifetime of effective learning.”
