December sees a new collection launched by East which will be one of the most popular ever. Called Plantation House it takes its inspiration from Indonesia and Malaysia.
The result is a range of clothes that use traditional fabrics and colours along with ethnic detailing to inspire a relaxed and yet formal style of dressing
The clothes come in a range of classic colours, think dark bitter chocolate with tones of cinnamon and nutmeg then highlighted with vibrant jade and smooth pagoda greens. The result is a stylish collection with exotic overtones.
Patterns are also inspired by South East Asia using batik resist printing to develop an individual garment at each turn. Anokhi, have worked with East of this collection developing some wonderful block prints for the pieces. The great thing about these clothes is because they are hand block printed each one is different – buying one of these pieces is buying a piece made from handcrafted fabric – each print is unique in some way which is part of the distinctive offer that East have on the High Street.
The overall silhouette is relaxed but constructed. Easy waterfall cardigans and coats are key, as are layering pieces strongly influenced by Indonesian styling such as longer line tunics and coats – in fact it is a classic East collection that will be something everyone can appreciate and wear.
