Singer/rapper E.Que Soul displays an unmatched versatility in the world of hip hop with the release of his new mixtape entitled, “Reflection of the Beast.” This twenty track stunner ranges from southern rap club hits to soulful pop with thought provoking message tracks in between. The mixtape was produced solely by E.Que Soul with features by none other than his own alter ego, ILLSWITCH, who makes appearances throughout the mixtape touching on serious matters.
E.Que Soul remains consistently soulful and entertaining throughout the mixtape’s entirety. Despite the darker sharp edges where ILLSWITCH touches on topics other rapper/singers avoid to remain in their safety net of money-filed lyrics, this Gary Indiana native embodies the spirit of his hometown hero, Michael Jackson, with his outlook on life and love. E.Que Soul’s range is impressive as his self-produced instrumentals jump hurdles over genre lines to include hip hop, soul, jazz, pop, acoustic, southern rap, alternative rock, and r&b. His vocal delivery and subject matter are just as diverse providing an intense listening experience regardless of age, race, or gender.
E.Que Soul’s “REFLECTION of the BEAST” mixtape is a clever myriad of musical tastes. With the inclusion of his alter ego, ILLSWITCH, this entertaining soul-pop star provides something for everyone for every mood.
