Free Community Event Offers Demo Classes; Tips for Healthy, Safe Summer
SAN JOSE, Calif. – June 09, 2009 – On Saturday, June 20, the Almaden Valley Athletic Club (AVAC®) will open its doors to the community for a day of family-friendly activities designed to promote a fun, healthy, and safe summer. AVAC’s Community Day will feature educational seminars, specialty classes and swim stroke and health assessments, including blood pressure and body fat testing. AVAC will offer water safety tips for the family and a team from the San Jose Police Department will also be present to discuss general child safety and offer free child fingerprinting.

Event activities are designed for all ages and fitness levels. Attendees may choose classes from the following schedule:

?10:45 a.m.-11:30 a.m. – Ball and Foam Roller Strength Training

?11:30 a.m.-12:15 p.m. – ZUMBA Gold

?12:00 p.m.-12:30 p.m. – Boot Camp

Attendees can enter to win valuable raffle prizes that include free swim and tennis lessons, Pilates classes as well as AVAC memberships. Light refreshments will be served.
