Amazing Safari In South Africa

A

For Immediate Release

March 22, 2011– My husband and myself got married in 2010, and we decided to go on an African safari honeymoon in January this year. We had always talked about such a holiday, and we thought we should leave this until we’d get married. After all, our parents were going to pay 😉

Unfortunately they had given us a “tight budget”, and after seeing several High Street travel agents, it appeared that we’d either have to go for a shorter honeymoon, or for a safari lodge of lower quality. We knew that a shorter stay would leave us frustrated and short-changed, and the same would be true for going to a less exclusive lodge. This was supposed to be our best travel ever!

We then did some serious research on the net and found several boutique safari lodges that no travel agent had ever heard of. My husband is an IT expert (I am a news journalist), and he was not surprised. He always argues that the net is where one finds the real bargains, because no middlemen like annoyingly un-informed and pushy travel agents need to get paid.

We decided to book at the Vuyani Safari Lodge, a small, 5-room luxury lodge on a private game reserve next to the Kruger. The guy of their booking office told us we could go on day trips to the Kruger, so we thought we’d have the best of both worlds. We found it quite daunting to go to a place that not much is known about, but the reviews on Tripadvisor were fantastic, and, from what we read, people seemed to love their safari holidays there.

I am only reluctantly publishing this article, because I know that this lodge will become even more popular (the lodge was fully booked when we were there), and I fear that they’ll end up hiking their rates making our next trip there more expensive.
Anyway, in a nutshell, our honeymoon at the Vuyani Lodge was simply amazing. From the moment we were welcomed by Quinton at the small Hoedspruit airport, to the very last handshake (and tears) when we left, our stay at the lodge was just magical. We simply loved the family-like ambience there, the relaxed atmosphere, and the interaction with other guests. Actually, we made great friends there, and we are in very regular touch with several of the other guests.

The honeymoon suites were delightful. Observing the baboons playing about in the trees while soaking up the sun and chilling out in the private Jacuzzi … the life!

We went on literally every safari game drive, even though the morning safaris leave at about 6. That’s how addictive it is! We saw an incredible of wildlife, and most of it up close. We will never forget hearing the heavy breathing of an elephant just next to us. Almost a Jurassic Park kind of experience 😉 awesome!

We cherish the fondest memories of our ten days of honeymoon safari at the Vuyani Lodge, and we have decided to be back for our next anniversary. There is no place like this one if you want to want a safari adventure and enjoy life and the world at its very finest.
