Anxiety attacks are a huge problem for thousands of people. It happens very suddenly and can be completely overwhelming. People can feel sick, scared, and feel symptoms of a heart attack such as difficulty breathing and chest pains. It’s definitely very uncomfortable and scary, but if a person can find out the causes of anxiety attacks they can better manage their anxiety attacks.

There are many causes of anxiety, stress being the number one factor. If people can’t find treatment for their attacks it can cause recurrent anxiety attacks. Some people have recurrent anxiety attacks that may occur when they aren’t doing or thinking of anything stressful or frightening. It can even happen in their sleep. And of course, worrying about having another anxiety attack won’t do anything but add stress, which could trigger more anxiety attacks.

According to many researches done recently, feeling relaxed and comfortable is important to curing anxiety attacks.

Often time’s a very important and stressful event can cause anxiety attacks, such as moving to another house, having a baby, or announcing a speech at a public place. A person might avoid anything that they think may have caused past anxiety attacks. So if they think going to a particular place caused their last attack they might begin avoiding it. Having to go to that particular place again may cause another attack because they feel so stressed out.

Anxiety attacks can also run in the family. They can be related to a medical condition, such as Alzheimer’s disease, or can develop if a person has an obsessive compulsive disorder. If a sufferer of anxiety attacks are addicted to drugs or alcohol they can have anxiety attacks due to withdrawal of drugs/alcohol. It can be difficult to find the particular causes of anxiety attacks because they can be very complex.
