A free, interactive Arrhythmia Reference Guide for reading electrocardiograms has been released by Medical Training and Simulation LLC. The guide is available on the website: http://www.practicalclinicalskills.com/ekg-reference-guide.aspx .
The guide presents 43 different arrhythmias with a 6 second ECG tracing and an electronic caliper for measuring time intervals. The guide includes a summary of each arrhythmia?s rhythm pattern, typical heart rate, P wave size and shape, PR interval and QRS features.
The Practical Clinical Skills website provides additional courses covering ECG basics, heart sounds and murmurs, lung sounds, carotid bruit evaluation and blood pressure assessment. These courses use web-based simulators to enhance learning and facilitate skills improvement.
The courses and reference are compatible with PC, MAC and iPad web browsers.
