Rock’n’Roll Concert

R

Christophe Dupin born on September 30th, 1970 to Berck-sur-Mer (France) then left for Switzerland at the age of 3. Plunged from his youngest age in the musical environment (his father, Roland, is worldwide known as the “Stradivarius” of the oboe) Christophe joined from 1978 the Conservatoire of Zürich where he began, naturally, to study the oboe.

If, in the paternal workshop, resound musics of Mozart, Beethoven, Vivaldi, Cimarosa? on the record player of the young kid, it was Elvis Presley, Gene Vincent, Chuck Berry, Buddy Holy and many other big names of the rock ‘n’ roll that turned in loop.

In 1982, Christophe had the chance to meet the singer and the guitarist of the group The Steps (Swiss rock and blues band) what decided him to study the guitar beside Peter Kane. A few months later, he created the group of rock ‘n’ roll The Billys with which he spread out the Swiss and German stages during more than four years, before entering studio to record “Dis-le moi” which will be broadcasted on Zurich radios. Their first concert will be in first part of Cincinnati Bomber’s. After one of his performances, Christophe was approached to become the singer’s of the group The Rhytm n? Cadillac. Proposition he declined to stay with his friends from the very beginning.

During the 90?s, Christophe played with several French bands with which he gave several concerts in France and in Greece.

In 2003, he created and developped the concept of the “Berdorf?s Musical Evenings” (Luxembourg), of which he was the artistic director. During a concert given in homage to Mozart – of whom Christophe considers that he was the first rock?n?roller  – Christophe made his improvised come back surrounded with classic musicians who left their instruments for a drum kit and a piano boogie. In front of the gained success, he decided to return in the composition (and, in the same time, became a member of Sacem Luxembourg).

Christophe made his official come-back on stage on August 16th, 2007 during a big rock ‘n’ roll and rockabilly concert given in homage to Elvis Presley, beside the French group of rock ‘n’ roll Les Forbans and of the German group of rockabilly The Hackensacks.
Author, composer, singer and multi-musician instrumentalist (guitar, bass, saxophone) Christophe Dupin will interpret on stage the titles of his first EP as well as big standards of the rock ‘n’ roll and maybe also some titles of his album which will be released at the beginning of 2013.

Christophe will be free before or after concert for interview or phoner.
