The Good Design Award 2008 or G-Mark 2008 was instituted by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry. With stringent and all-inclusive criteria for design evaluation, the awarded designs count more than 30,000 items, include products in a wide variety of fields such as architecture, the environment, communication and even experimental design in state-of-the-art technical fields and business models that have design at their core These awards recognize outstanding design and only the best entries are selected for an award.
