Autographs Store to Pledge £100,000 if Facebook Target Hit

Autographs-Store Sports Memorabilia Chain and distribution company based in Sittingbourne, Kent have once been helping charities by pledging to donate £100,000 pounds to various charities up and down the country, but only if they meet the target of 100,000 friends on Facebook.

Although an online memorabilia shop that specialises mainly in the sporting sector, including sports memorabilia such as Arsenal memorabilia and Chelsea memorabilia it has also become a keen fundraiser for charities. With the year barely underway the store has already began rolling out its 2010 ways of raising money for worthwhile charities ranging from Help the Heroes Campaign through to the Combat Stress Organisation. Although previously these events raise money through the more traditional routes of charity dinners, live auctions or raffles, it has come to light that the Kent based a href=”http://www.autographs-store.com/” title=”Sports Memorabilia”>Sports Memorabilia brand has found a new way to help raise cash.

Its latest charity-donating scheme will be delivered by the use of the Internet and in particular the world-renowned social networking site Facebook. The Autograph Store has set up a group on Facebook and on the completion of 100,000 friends to this group a £1 per each member will be donated to various charities that they currently work with.

With last year’s total fund raising activities for charity achieving just over £85,000 moving on to the £100,000 milestone is the next target for the Kent based group. With current fund raising events already under way and lots of ideas in the pipeline ready to help them achieve their goal.

“Raising money for Charity is part of our companies ethos and by setting a target through the social networking brand Facebook it gives us and the charities we work a chance to see the support we all need.” said Matt Spiers, One of the Founding Directors of Autographs-Store.

With over 400 million users on Facebook it provides the online memorabilia company a gigantic platform of which they can exploit to help raise support for some of these worthwhile causes and show people how they can make a difference. The Autograph-Store has not stopped with the £100,000 mark though, although this is their latest pledge it hopes to actually achieve nearer the £150,000 mark, helping charities across the country improving people’s lives.
