Henderson, Nev.?Dec. 19, 2012?Bluepoint Solutions today announced its sponsoring of a month-long shoe drive in support of the Assistance League of Las Vegas?s Operation School Bell program. The November shoe drive concludes a cumulative year of support for Operation School Bell, which also included participation in the 196 mile Las Vegas Ragnar Relay, an employee fundraiser and the donated time of Bluepoint volunteers.

Operation School Bell provides clothing and other school supplies for the children of low-income families in the Las Vegas area. Starting in November, Bluepoint partnered with neighboring Henderson businesses in a month-long shoe drive in support of the charity. Bluepoint employees, along with employees from Oh My Dog! dog grooming and SinCity Crossfit South, gathered brand new children?s athleticfootwear, with Bluepoint matching each contribution by donating one pair of shoes for every two pairs collected. In all, nearly 100 new pairs of shoes were donated.

Also in November, Bluepoint employees and their families raised nearly $2,000 for Operation School Bell by participating in the 196 mile Las Vegas Ragnar Relay across the Las Vegas Valley. Over a40-hour period encompassing two days and one night, each member of the 12-runner Bluepoint team ran seven to 26 mile stretches, enduring piercing ice and gustsof wind up to 60 miles per hour. The relay was comprised of more than 6,000runners from 572 teams who traveled to race from 45 states, Washington D.C. and three provinces in Canada.

About the relay, Bluepoint employee Jennifer Borusiewicz said, ?The racewas such a challenging experience; mentally, physically and emotionally. With such wonderful and supportive teammates it was truly a once in a lifetime event to be a part of, and I?m grateful to Bluepoint for the opportunity. Eventhrough our various injuries and exhaustion we were able to persevere and cross the finish line together.?

Throughout the year, Bluepoint has matched employee contributions to Operation School Bell, with total donations reaching $2,100. In addition, Bluepoint employees have also periodically volunteered their time during the year to help students sortthrough supplies and pick out new school clothes, toiletry items andschoolbooks at the Operation School Bell warehouse. In a summer fundraiser, Bluepoint employees donated clothing and housewares to the League?s thriftstore. Thrift store sales help to provide funding for Operation School Bell, aswell as the other programs sponsored by the Assistance League.
