BrightLife Direct Donates Shoes, Compression Stockings to AmVets

Washington, DC – December 30, 2010 – BrightLife Direct, a medical compression garment distributor, has recently donated support stockings and orthotic shoes to American Veterans (AmVets), a non-profit service organization of military veterans.

“We try to help out service organizations when we can,” said Kip Bright, president of BrightLife Direct. “This is the first time we have donated to AmVets. They are very active in the Washington, DC area, and are a very worthy cause.”

The company recently donated 35 pair of support socks and 28 pair of orthotic shoes. They contributed both graduated compression stockings and Orthaheel shoes in a range of sizes and styles for both men and women.

Rather than using the convenient sizing chart provided on the company’s website, many online customers from BrightLife Direct buy several pair of compression stockings or orthotic shoes in different sizes, try them on at home, then send back the ones that don’t fit. While some people find it helpful in shopping, federal regulations state that the company cannot resell any of these items that have been returned after they have been opened. Because the items have only had the package opened or the items tried on, Brightlife Direct donates them to those in need who cannot afford to buy the special hosiery and shoes, which do not require a prescription.

“These compression socks are ideal for people with circulation problems and those suffering from different venous disorders,” said Bright. “They are also helpful for individuals that are on their feet all day. Both the support socks and Orthaheel shoes make their legs and feet feel better.”
