Castle Hills Announces 2008 “Fall Festival”

C

The North Texas gated home community of Castle Hills is hosting its Fall Festival on Saturday, October 18, 2008, 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Neighbors are invited to come to Castle Hills to shop for fresh fall fruit and vegetables from the Farmer’s Market and for the perfect pumpkin from the Pumpkin Patch. Families can take horse drawn wagon rides around the community, enjoy family games, face painting and live blue grass music from Blue River Band.

Added to the activities for this year’s festival is a Halloween costume contest for dogs, sponsored by All Creatures Veterinary Center. Dogs in the All Creatures Doggie Costume Contest, which will begin at 12:30, can win great doggie (and owner!) prizes in the funniest, scariest, cutest couple and best overall categories.

“Children have so much fun choosing the perfect pumpkin from our pumpkin patch,” said Julie Langford, Castle Hills development, “and what fun it will be to see all of the dogs in their Halloween costumes! The festival is a great opportunity for families to come together and enjoy the season. Everyone is welcome.”

Complete Foot and Ankle Care of N. Texas will be accepting donations of gently worn and new shoes for local shelters at the festival and one lucky donor will win designer jewelry valued at $315. Toothacres Pet Care Center, Northwest Carrollton Kumon Math & Reading Center, Landscapes, Avalon’s, the Golf Club at Castle Hills and Castle Hills Village Market are also event sponsors, providing games and prizes at the festival.

The All Creatures Doggie Costume Contest is limited to the first 25 entrants. Entry is free and contestants must be entered by October 13 to participate. Entry forms and additional information are available at the Castle Hills Community Center, 2501 Queen Margaret. The Fall Festival will take place in the plaza of the Castle Hills Village Shops on King Arthur Blvd. in Lewisville, just north of the intersection of Hebron and Josey Lane. For questions or directions, please call the Castle Hills Community Center at 972-899-7500.
